Last week, I ran a contest on Instagram for a free 2 hour tattoo. Anyone that entered had to write an email to me as to why they deserve to win this. Well after spending 6 hrs last night and reading well over 400 tear jerking submission emails, i would like to share the story of this young lady and why she won. I always believed that tattoos are not a matter of looking cool or trendy but more of a passionate story of art permanently put on your body. hey! so my name is Joanna, Im 18 years old & I just entered the Instagram tattoo contest. Winning this contest would mean more than anything to me. On December 12, 2011 , 3 days before my 16th birthday, my father took his own life. My life has not been the same since. Ive struggled with depression & regular teenage angst & Ive been left with nothing but to wonder why my own father would choose to leave. He left me a note which did not really answer anything at all, however, he dedicated the song With Arms Wide Open by Creed to me. He told me when I hear that song to always think of him as he did listening to it as he wrote the letter. Every once in awhile it comes on the radio & I bawl my eyes out. If I won this contest, I would get it tattooed on me in honor of him. Please choose me, this tattoo would have more meaning than any tattoo I could ever get!
