Last week I was in Cuba with a group of Chamber members as part of the People to People program. We had a chance to meet with many folks and visit various businesses (government run and some emerging private businesses). Cuba is an old world country that has become a third world country due to unstable political environment and harsh economic policies of the last 60 years, but it is poised for change. It was quite an experience to interact with the locals and understand their desire for change. While our relationship with Cuba maybe complex it is clear that the time has come to rethink the relationship and make changes that will benefit the people of Cuba (those still there and those in the US) and the people of the US. Oh did I mention there was rum and cigars!!!
