Last week it was YB Surendran. Today, it is YB Khalid Samad. Tomorrow, it has been reported that YB Rayer and YB Rafizi will also be charged in Court under the Sedition Act. Yes, these may be politicians. And you might be lulled into the notion that when things happen to politicians, they pretty much asked for it. But remember, the Sedition Act has also been used against activists and everyday Joes and Janes like you. Remember the schoolchild who was investigated under Sedition because he like a FB page? First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist....
