Last words.....when someone is about to leave us, time is priceless, and they say what is most important to those they love. But cleave into The Lord your God, as ye have done unto this day. Those were the words of Joshua to those he lead to freedom. The people had seen the Lords goodness over and over, and celebrated victory after victory. So, you would think they would do all possible to praise The Lord above all else. Joshua was exhorting them because he knew what grave danger was lurking. You see, history shows that the more a nation is blessed and prospers their tendency is to pull away from the true God. They either go back to idols or they worship mere man. They forget where God has taken them from and credit their success to their own intelligence and power. Can I say something.... Mankind really has nothing to boast about in itself. Any intelligent thought he has has come from the DNA created by the Almighty. Believers, we have all been blessed over and over again. Lets not forget Who has blessed us. The fact that you can read this on your phone or computer says you are blessed. Did a statue or a piece of wood give you your blessing? So, you may work hard for what you have, thats a wonderful blessing! Who gave you breath and strength today?? Hear the words of Joshua, cleave to The Lord your God!! It means to grab hold of Him and hold on for dear life!! Otherwise you will get puffed up, think you can do it alone or go to other gods and forget the one true God. Am I being an alarmist?? Look at history and the nations which were powerful and have fallen. They were all gone astray to strange gods and puffed up ideas!! I know this sounds harsh but I think we are in danger if we do not cleave to The Lord this very day!! Dont be satisfied with going to church meetings, walk close to The Lord in your every day and every activity. Choose this day who you will serve with your whole being!!! :)
