Last year across this country we had the worst winter weather possible. Hopefully, this year will be different. However, its been reported this winter will be worse. I can still hope. Most people were working and probably not paying attention. No surprise there. Who could pay attention to things when your preoccupation is to get your job done so you can get home and take care of your family?? Well fortunately ... I dont have to work. So I not only get to talk to the postman when he drops off the mail. I get to hear all the dirt this new REPUBLICAN government we have in DC is dishing out to our USPS. And its pretty discussing. Their attempt is to put the USPS out of business and privatize it. Most people dont know that although the USPS is protected by the FEDS when it comes to YOUR mail. They have nothing to do with the postal office other than protecting the mail. Holidays, sick days, health care, pensions, have nothing to do with anyone other than the employees and employer. WHICH IS NOT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. YET somehow this federal government that republicans keep telling us is too big for its britches ... they are lock step in the middle when it comes to USPS. Republican Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and his wife brought to the table due to her relationship with UPS and her lobbying that the USPS needs to be privatized and to make it an easier proposition ... lets just make it harder for the USPS to hang on by demanding that the agency pre-fund 75 years’ worth of employee health benefits, a demand no other businesses or institutions faces. Any hoot ... the purpose of me bringing this to your attention has to do with how UPS, FED EX, both private institutions, and the Post Office in comparison perform. Last winter FED EX, and UPS were awful. People didnt get their packages when they were supposed to get them, or didnt get them at all. FED EX was caught on camera several times just tossing your packages destroying your merchandise or gifts and didnt deliver many overnight mail on time. But guess who did??? You got it. USPS!!! They got the job done. Do you really want your personal mail in the hands of a private company??? Do you not appreciate your mail pretty much coming at a specific time every day??? It is a federal offense for anyone to open your mail, steal your mail, destroy your mail box, etc. All those things are protected by federal law. But the UPS and FED EX are NOT!!! Sometimes we need the feds. YOUR MAIL IS UP FOR GRABS IF REPUBLICANS EVER GET THEIR WAY.
