Last year, on this day, greed and corruption conspired to deprive the legal dwellers of Ejipura EWS of their shelter. For weeks AAP volunteers worked round the clock to provide relief to the victims of this tragedy and help them settle down again. Today marks the first anniversary of this event. A tragedy that affects thousands of household’s should have been on the top priority of the courts, the CM, the Mayor of Bangalore and the BBMP commissioner. The government machinery should have worked with lightning speed to ensure adequate housing, health care and education to the displace and initiated necessary action against BBMP officers and its co-conspirators for getting the demolition orders by suppressing the information regarding the legality of the existing settlement. From today the Ex-residents of Ejipura EWS are organizing an indefinite demonstration to get back their land. While in the near future, AAP’s vision of Janlokpal, judicial reforms and political decentralization will prevent re-occurrence of such cases, today AAP continues to stands in solidarity with the victims in their demand for justice. We request all AAP volunteers to Join us and extend support for this cause. Venue: Town Hall Date and Time:Saturday 18th Jan at 11:00 am Contact : (9342229555) / (7676444673)
