Late one afternoon a little girl named Lucy was brought to MIA, - TopicsExpress

Late one afternoon a little girl named Lucy was brought to MIA, after being found abandoned on the streets of Nakuru. She said she was four, but we think she is about 6 years old. At present Lucy has a home with MIA, and staff are trying to find out more about this precious little girl. I saw how unsure and frightened this little girl was, not knowing what was in store for her, but we all tried to reassure her we would look after her. Lucy was introduced to the other children, shown where she would sleep and given some clothes to wear. That night I wondered how she was feeling, sleeping in a new bed, all those new faces .... but perhaps it was much better than what she had experienced lately. How pleased we were to see her the next day, smiling as she saw us and mixing in with the other children. Lucy was also given a new school uniform and was being shown around the school. This was a little bit daunting for her as I am sure she had never been to school. Lucy has been at MIA for more than 2 weeks now and I am happy to say she has taken all these changes in her stride, and is a strong little girl, who is fitting in well and has a gorgeous smile, a smile that we are seeing more and more of. I am pleased that Lucy has found MIA, and can call MIA her home, whether it be for a short time or for a long time, she has a bed to sleep on, food in her belly, and most of all people who will love her and look after her. I look forward to seeing her grow up .... and am very proud of the work that Mission in Action does to help these children in need! Ivan Budulica Mia Orphanage Sandra Dawson McLeod Sandie Stirgess
