Lately Ive been on a memoir and nonfiction kick. Reading a lot of them. Wild. Infidel. Being Mortal. Night. The Year of Magical Thinking. Lit. But also craving and thinking about re-reading books from my early 20s. Been dying to read a Steinbeck or Tolstoy novel as of late but wondering if I have the current stamina for the length. And how to decide as we creep on into age: Do we re-read books weve already savored or do we plow ahead and continue to read new books hopeful still that we can read them all? Last spring when I stood in Powells, I nearly burst out into tears at the realization that I will never be able to read all the books I want to read. Tell me, how do you choose what to read next? Whats on your night stand? To be fair, on mine at the moment: Things Ive been Silent About, Azar Nafisi Without you, There is No Us, Suki Kim The Life you can Save, Peter Singer A Wrinkle in Time, Madeline LEngle Close your Eyes, Hold Hands, Chris Bohjalian Thunderstruck, Elizabeth McCracken
