Lately, I’ve been dealing with an injury completely unrelated to painting that has kept me from being able to do so. Carpal tunnel syndrome took over my right hand and left me mute. I’ve never experienced this before and it’s been a little hard to take for a girl who usually can’t go three days without painting or she gets cranky. Some recent rest has me looking up though and I can be seen pouring over paintings in museums eagerly wanting to get back into my gorgeous little tubes of glistening linseed oil and color. The ‘break’ has also given me a chance to see things afresh and for that I guess I should be grateful. It’s been hard to be away from it for so long, but a rush of energy is waiting to be released. That, in and of itself, is almost worth the price of admission. Thinking up new ways to set up and attack in my studio. Can’t wait to get to it. Unfortunately, this also means the Flowers & Bullets show has been postponed. While contemplating the work that will resume in my own studio, I leave you with this gem I found of Lucian Freud’s studio as he left it. Enjoy.
