Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about Honda Fetish and how they - TopicsExpress

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about Honda Fetish and how they wish previous ownership was still around and how it is going downhill. I’m not one to put things out there in the spotlight but this needs to be cleared up once and for all. You may have noticed that Honda Fetish has since changed to HF Nation. I will get why that happened here in a little while, but let me say this first. Had I not taken over ownership of the Honda Fetish brand, there would most likely be no Honda Fetish at all. Previous ownership was having to take loans out to put on each and every event and then paying them off with the profits. I took over ownership in June, right before the Mesquite meet (venue was picked out by previous ownership and they also tried to make up a nice story so they looked good to the publics eye as to what happened with the ground and how they would have handled it differently). Had I not taken over ownership, the meet would never have happened because previous ownership could not secure funds to host the event. Now as to the name change and just to lay out some of the issues we have had to overcome since acquiring HF. Back before we talked about buying it, the previous owner decided it would be a god idea to sell some “spoon style valve cover” phone cases on the Facebook page. We started talking about buying HF in early June. We had a deal in place, and then the previous owner backed out at the very last second saying people talked him out of it and he had a change of heart. Two days later, my phone was blowing up at 5am with the previous owner trying to get my attention that once again, he wanted to sell it, and he wanted to sell it that day. So I made another offer after our previous offer expired. The offer was accepted. Two days after acquiring HF, I received a email from a lawyer representing Honda that was forwarded to me from the previous owners email address dated two days prior to the purchase date of HF requesting to speak to the previous owner about the phone cases, and the fact that the events and website had the word “Honda” in the title. They wanted to sue the owners and shut down the site permanently. There is no way I was about to let this happen. I don’t know if the previous owner ever saw this email or what, but he was very highly motivated to sell just 2 days after deciding not to. We were totally blind sided by this as there was no mention of any legal issues against the brand when we acquired it. So here we are 4 months later and we have been forced to take “Honda” out of the name to avoid any further legal action. Re-Branding is not easy, along with the other messes we have had to pick up from previous ownership including a disaster of a venue at our spring meet this past year. I am determined to bring the Honda audience a bigger and better car show than what they have been given in the past and I will do anything in my power to make that happen. Honda Fetish IS still here, and it’s not going anywhere. If we had not taken over Honda Fetish, it may have been signed over to Honda under threat of Legal action, or it may have folded due to no funds, or it may still be floating on from event to event and never expanding or going outside of DFW. Previous ownership had a line of sight that was event to event. Our line of sight is years down the road. This is not something we are going to give up on and we hope that you will not give up on us. Thank you. HF Nation.
