We have a record of 110+ tables this year of train vendors only, this is a 40% increase from last year) This number does not include our tables, non-profits, displays, etc. !!! We are extremely excited to have such an increase. Goes to show the rail park CAN make a difference in a community!!! What a great year !!!!! The WBGU-TV Scenic Stops will be at the Rail Festival interviewing Fostoria Mayor Eric Keckler and others for the Nov. 14 Scenic Stops episode. This episode will have Northwest Ohio trains !!!!! How exciting to be recognized for Fostoria trains !!!!!!! The Rail Festival will have our famous Soup Contest with plenty of soups for you to taste. The Photo Contest this year is online to make it easier for everyone to enter their favorite Fostoria train-related photo. The SCAT bus tour will be touring Fostoria with our famous Gov. Charles Foster. You will definitely learn something about Fostoria if you take the tour. The Fostoria Chamber Car Show will be in the Fostoria High School parking lot, adjacent to our location from noon-4. The rail park update --heavy equipment was brought back to the park location on Saturday as there are piles of dirt and stone to be moved. More work was accomplished on the platform roof. More of the parking lot/driveway light bases have been installed. Understand the driveways are being worked on this week. We keep hearing October as the completion date, but have no idea which of the 31 days will be the magic number. Definitely want to have as many attend the ribbon-cutting, especially the media for this phenomenal event !!!!! Not everyone can take off work that day without knowing in advance !!!!! Have had people from all over the US wanting to be here for the ribbon-cutting. The Fostoria Area Visitors Bureau along with Capture 1 Prod. has produced a Fostoria First video. This dvd includes Fostoria trains, glass, football and more. FRPS President Jim Roberts was outstanding in his train/railroad segment. Sales of the dvd will be available on Sept, 17 and the Fostoria Chamber/FAVB table. Proceeds to benefit the Fostoria Area Historical Museum. Old dead Gov. Charles Foster is also on this dvd. The B&O RR HS will have their convention in Findlay Oct. 4-6. There will be a bus tour through Fostoria on Friday at the B&O depot and close to the rail park. FRPS will again be at the Berea train show on Oct. 5-6. As always, if there are comments, please forward them. Will have more rail park photos but tend to place them on the website first.
