Dear William, Re: Meldreth Way roundabout, Lower Earley, Pedestrian/Cycleway roundabout upgrade The highway improvement works taking place at the roundabout of Meldreth Way with Cutbush Lane in Lower Earley mainly consists in improving the existing pedestrian routes at the roundabout and the cycleway facilities from Cutbush Lane. The construction works form part of a staggered phased scheme that will ultimately tie into the new cycleway on Lower Earley Way. Items within this scheme include; - Widening the islands to provide safer crossing points - Widening the footpath on both approaches of Cutbush Lane to the roundabout to provide cycleway facilities - Refreshing road markings within the extent of this scheme The works that started last week are scheduled to finish in January 2015. We will be looking at improving the stretch of Cutbush Lane going east in the years to come.
