Laura Nyro wrote and sang some really amazing songs. I heard Wedding Bell Blues first, as a kid listening to the My Girl soundtrack, as sung by the 5th Dimension. As far as I can tell, that band basically existed to cover her and make gigantic hits out of her songs. But I kinda lover her as the solo singer at the piano the most!
