#Lavrov, #Fabius discuss situation in #Syria Oct 26, 2013 #Moscow, (#SANA)- Foreign Ministers of Russia and France, Sergei Lavrov and Laurent Fabius, discussed in a phone call the situation in Syria. The talks dealt with a number of international issues of common concern, including the situation in Syria and bilateral cooperation, Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday. The discussions come within the underway preparations for holding the international conference on Syria in Geneva for finding a solution to the crisis in the country. Lavrov stresses importance of Brahimis efforts to form united Syrian opposition delegation to Geneva 2 Conference Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister discussed in a telephone conversation with UN Envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, the preparations for Geneva 2 Conference and the troika meeting of Russian, the US and the UN early next month. In a statement the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Lavrov pointed out to the importance of Brahimis efforts to form a united Syrian opposition delegation for dialogue with the Syrian government and the necessity of ensuring the participation of all main regional countries.
