Law enforcement agencies will work today to reinforce the Israeli capital city. Some 1,000 police officers and Border Police officials will be added following the escalation in violence in recent days. Security forces will also work with the Tax Authorities and the Jerusalem Municipality to deal with rioters and implement law enforcement in East Jerusalem, in order to deal with the rioters. The Police intends’ to operate with three main sectors for prolonged activity lasting at least one month. The escalation of tensions in the Israeli capital city was felt last night, after Palestinian rioters clashed with the Israeli security forces in several neighborhoods in East Jerusalem. Several dozen masked men blocked roads; set fire to trash cans, and threw stones and Molotov cocktails in Al Tor. One person was lightly injured by a stone and required medical treatment. The Police and Border Police arrived there using crowd dispersal methods. In addition, a stone was thrown at the Light Rail in Beit-Hanina-Shuafat. Damage was caused to the windshield. There were no causalities. The Police continue to search for suspicious people. In the Beit Hanina neighborhood, the police identified Palestinian rioters intending to throw stones. They were arrested before they could throw the stones. Three of them were detained for questioning. Earlier, a Jerusalem Municipality tractor entered Silwan in East Jerusalem in order to evacuate scrap, stones and debris from the road in order to facilitate free movement for local residents. A number of rioters threw stones and flares at the tractor. There were no causalities. The Border Police spread out in the area using crowd dispersal methods.
