Lawyers in Libraries offers free advice in Landlord/Renter Issues Workshop Thursday, July 10 – 7:00 p.m. Willowbranch Branch Library When someone pays rent to live in a house, condo, apartment or mobile home, the renter is considered a tenant under Florida law. This is true regardless of whether there is a written lease. A tenant has certain rights and responsibilities under Florida law. In turn, landlords are required to rent dwellings that are suitable to live in, have working plumbing, make repairs, and comply with local health and safety codes. What happens when a renter or landlord violates the law? Learn about these issues and more in the Lawyers in Libraries program, Landlord/Renter Issues, offered by Pro Bono Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Three Rivers Legal Services and the Jacksonville Public Library. The ongoing workshops feature attorneys who provide guidance on a variety of topics. All programs are free and open to the public. For information call 630-4655.
