Leadership rather than “command holds a unit together. Leadership is absolute. Although officers and NCO’s can be “toxic” to an organization in my book they are not Leaders. There is no such thing as “toxic leaders” because “leaders” inspire and influence people to accomplish organizational goals. Leaders first and foremost motivate people both inside and outside their organization to pursue actions, focus thinking and shape decisions for the greater good of the organization.
