League Round-up DSAFL Week 3 September 7 Normandy came out - TopicsExpress

League Round-up DSAFL Week 3 September 7 Normandy came out in a very determined mood after last weeks defeat to Hole in Wa and looked very slick against Hendersons who started okay but were overwhelmed by a rampant Normandy side. Paul McCann lead the line well and the team scored at regular intervals. Kris Shannon and Bobby Green both scored 4, Chris Whitelaw hit a hat-trick along with single strikes from Chris Wood, Jordan Nish, Paul McCann, Lee Schneider and Dillon Irving. Hole in Wa though are looking especially strong in the same group. They took to the field against Park and ran out comfortable winners scoring through David Patterson, Joe Jardine an Alan Hunter double and an own goal. Wa were especially fired up for the win after the sad news Dale Talaszko suffered a bad injury during the week that will keep him out of the game for a long period of time. Sincere best wishes go to Dale in his recovery as Dale has played in the league for many years and is well respected within the game. Scaur also found their scoring boots with Gavin Maxwell hitting a hat-trick as well as strikes from Chris Cloy, Andy Maxwell and a double from Kevin McCall. FC Annan struck back through Paul McDowall. Scaur now sit top of Group D. Summerhill and Dumfries fought out an expected tight battle with chances few and far between with Summerhill possibly fortunate to get the win scoring with the last kick of the game. Paul McDowall equalising for the visitors whilst Jamie Kimm and Daniel Corttrel getting the vital goals for the hosts. Jolly continue to scratch their heads how they have played well in 3 games and still not got a point. Sunday saw them squander several early chances before falling behind to Kelloholm. Shaun Perry and Rory Kilpatrick getting the goals for the visitors. Kelloholm go top of Group B by a single goal and stay in a strong position. Moffat played a local derby against Black Bull who were buoyed after a good win last week. Moffat though are starting to become ruthless again tight at the back and still finding goals at the other end. A tighter game than most of the others saw Moffat eventually win with goals from Justin Borthwick and Kevin Jack. Moffat now need a draw from their last game to go through to the semi-finals. In the Prego Premier League Nithside and Loreburn went head to head in a very fast and competitive game in Dumfries. Arthur McAdam and Stevie Green scoring for the hosts. Loreburn did really well to fight back eventually getting 2 goals from Ryan Service. Nithside with a strong first half, whilst Loreburn finished the game the better with Nithsides keeper making 2-3 really good saves to keep Loreburn out. In the Scottish Cup First Round Annan Town travelled to the central belt and missed 3 guilt edge chances early on and were made to pay later in the game as Real Albion ran out 4-1 winners. Ben Savage scoring For the Annan lads. Ruthwell hosted Castlemilk Dynamo and took the lead through Darren Stevnson early on but then Castlemilk started to go through the gears and though Paul Otway scored midway through the second half Castlemilk ran out eventual winners 6-2.
