Leah Bedrosian Peterson, Associate Professor at Lycoming College, will be exhibiting her work, The Past is Present, from November 20th-December 6th. The reception will be held on November 20th, 2014 from 4-5:30pm at the Digital Media Gallery in the Communication building on the corner of 4th and Franklin. The Past is Present explores the history of the Armenian Genocide and its implications on current generations. The photographs in The Past is Present address the legacy of victimization and symbols that reference cultural identity. The animation entitled, May I Go Blind, tells the true story of an Armenian Genocide survivor who became an assassin to revenge the death of his family and over a million other Armenians. May I Go Blind was created in collaboration with Animator (Lycoming College Alumna) Christina Moliterno and Illustrator (Lyoming College Fine Art Faculty) Antonia Crook-Perez. The Past is Present was created with the support of a Lycoming College Professional Development Grant. Please feel free to view the trailer for May I Go Blind. I hope that it entices you to join us for the screening of the full version on November 20th. https://vimeo/83000475 Sincerely, Leah Bedrosian Peterson Www.leahbedrosian
