Learn Filmmaking for Fieldwork skills at our 2-week short course in Manchester this July, 2015. The course is open to those with all levels of expertise and it is particularly suited to beginners. F4F is intensely practical and you will learn how to operate a professional HD camera and sound equipment, how to edit using the latest Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud software and how to develop, produce, fund and distribute a research project that makes use of audio-visual techniques. Recent graduates include Professor William A. Callahan who has used the skills he learned to undertake a number of video projects and develop new courses at LSE. Manchester’s Dr Elena Barabantseva has recently completed British Born Chinese, a forty-minute film exploring the experience of second-generation Chinese migrants growing up in the UK and she has reflected on her methodology in written articles. BA Drama student, Daisy-May Hudson has successfully crowdfunded her film, Half Way.
