Learning accents and national stereotypes from Hollywood: the kid who is reproducing these accents appears to have learned them from movies, which means, Hollywood voice coaches, indirectly. They also illustrate how powerful Hollywood and other national movie industries can be in setting cultural stereotypes and prejudices. Makes you wonder -- what is the Bollywood or Nollywood (Nigerian Hollywood) stereotype accent for a Russian or a Japanese citizen? Certain extreme stereotypes, such as the stereotypical Japanese character in Chinese films made these days, are so astoundingly negative as to defy description.
