* Leave It For The Sake of Allah * Do you have a bad habit that you need to get rid of? Do you want to finally eliminate a sin/disliked deed from your life? If you think that you dont, then know that we need to look at the longterm consequences of every single thing we do (as longterm as after death) and actively aim to please Allah in the time we have on this Earth as much as possible. Or else, we will regret it. We must bring ourselves to account because we are all sinful. This does not mean that we are bad people. It simply means that we are human. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: All human beings without exception are sinful, but the best sinners are those who repent the most.” -Tirmidhi TAKE ACTION: Keep a box or envelope somewhere private. Have the intention to fill it with X amount of money every time you commit the sin and/or bad habit. Every time you catch yourself, you will deposit the money. [Example: I just swore. I shall put $2 in the box.] Commit to doing this EVERY SINGLE TIME you transgress. At the end of the month, you will donate this money to your favourite charity, or spend it on buying something for your parents and/or family. Sometimes, we get so accustomed and habituated to doing something harmful that we have become desensitized to its repercussions in this life, the grave and the Hereafter. With this strategy, you will be able to physically see, in this life, how your sins have accumulated, along with the amount of money that has been subtracted from your wealth. However, if you are sincere with your intention to purify, better yourself and please Allah, your reward is with Him. Well make a future post about the benefits of spending for the sake of Allah from the Quran and Hadith! For now, try this, ask Allah for forgiveness, and have faith! :D
