Legends Fall a Step Behind versus Pumas before Playoffs Football can be a complicated sport. In terms of performances, mental and physical, all play aspects factor to either a win or loss. In the last game of the season for Legends, the former Intra Champions looked to extend their five game winning streak and looked onto secure a second place finish versus Pumas. Pumas possession game dried out Legends counter attack but it was a high scoring fixture. Fabian opened the scoring in a wonderful team goal, but moments later Pumas responded. The goals went back and forth but it eventually led to Pumas drawing themselves further from Legends and began to play their game. The squad were low on players which was a weak spot that was quickly exposed. Carlos and Luis had difficulty finding a goal, and spreading the field. Roman attempted to test the goalkeeper from long range, most were effective shots, but strikers failed to poach the goal in the box. Frustrations rose, but both teams continued to score. In terms of mistakes created, Legends were spread out too far leaving the midfield open for Aleksander and Chuy. In an attempt to adjust to their play, it was too late which proved costly. Salas had a pretty solid game, but drifted away from his position a couple of times. Sergio rose to the occasion, nailing a hat trick, finishing his dribbles and constantly keeping the defenders on their toes. This loss means that Legends are a step behind Pumas and Mavericks, but Coach Juan remains optimistic about Playoffs believing that Legends have a genuine chance. An excellent league season with 7 wins and 2 close losses.
