Lemme break something down for you ladies. As a Makeup Artist, I feel as though I charge a VERY reasonable amount. Probably less than I should ( I might be changing that soon) not because of an ego, or because I feel like Im an A-list MUA... BUT because of TIME: I clean, and fully sanitize all my brushes and makeup thoroughly before/during/and after each client( so you dont catch a nasty fungal infection) TRAVEL: 98% of the time I travel to my clients, or at an on set location which requires GAS. And while traveling I am having to carry along my huge makeup kit, bag, and makeup chair all by myself which takes a lot of work. COST: My kit( Makeup, zucca rolling case, supplies, and makeup chair costs well over 3,000. 95% of the makeup in my kit is PROFESSIONAL brands that either are inaccessible to clients, or are very very expensive. And mind you, Im having to constantly replace items, and continuously having to buy new items. And lastly but most importantly CRAFT: This is my passion, my lively hood. Ive gone to cosmetology school which costed $18,000.00 just so I could obtain a license (even though it isnt necessary for makeup) but I did that for knowledge, and accreditation. This is my art... it requires constant learning, hours of watching videos, practice, but most of all GOD given talent. You cant want to look like Kim Kardashian on a Felicia budget (Friday reference) . If so then good luck trying to achieve it yourself. But I leave off with this quote: Im an artist and Im sensitive about my sh*t -Tech9 Fragile
