Lemme get this straight. Ariel married Prince Eric of The - TopicsExpress

Lemme get this straight. Ariel married Prince Eric of The Little Mermaid when she was 16. Aurora of Sleeping Beauty was kissed by Prince Philipp while asleep when she was also 16. Snow White is ...a beautiful 14-year old girl, often described as the fairest in the land... young, when she married her Prince Charming. According to some accounts, Cinderella is ...a gorgeous YOUNG woman with classically beautiful features... assuming she isnt older than 18. Belle of Beauty and the Beast, alongside, is ... a YOUNG woman living in a small unnamed village in France..., forced by Gaston to be his wife; who eventually married the Beast in the latter part of the story at a young age (you can assume she isnt older than 18 either prior to the description young). Princess Jasmine of Aladdin on the other hand, is said to be ... the soon-to-be 16-year-old daughter of the Sultan of Agrabah... when she soon married Aladdin on the latter part of the story. In the cultural sense, and when we speak of reality, it is stated under the 1987 Philippine Constitution, that the age of majority where it is most legal to get married is 18 years old. In America, most parents abandon their children at age 16 presuming they could have their own living, for college is an optional degree for students to take and they already work after graduating in High School. I have something in mind about these fairy tales, contradicting the entire selection about Disneys creations. Arent they somehow promoting child abuse prior to the young age the creators have estimated? Or were they actually trying to tell children that its okay to fall in love, rebel on your parents to fight for who you love, to eventually and get married and live a happily ever after at a very young age? Hmm. I know their purpose is otherwise my opinion, but wasnt that what I said was obviously what was shown? I dont know about you, but thats how I see things. Probably their former culture, perhaps? I dont know. Maybe, just maybe. Dont get me wrong though, I am really a fan of Fairy Tales. The Little Mermaid is actually my favorite above all the original six (Disney Princesses). Apart from my perception and what I see through Walt Disneys creations and The Walt Disney Companys media franchise, I have nothing against the vulnerability of the creators, themselves. This is just a mere observation based from the factual information I have gathered from a research. In connection to this, I, as a young woman who had been a huge fan of fairy tales since then, dwell and believe that Prince Charming-s do exist, still. It also tells children what true love is, and such thing do actually occur, despite how elusive the mere event is. Thats one positive thing I have gathered from watching these movies. It also tells us that, Dreams do Come True. I just dont understand why to children and NOT teenagers though, when they are vulnerable and naive about love in comparison to us, teenagers, who mostly experience such event.
