Les Williams was a racing legend in southwest Michigan. He operated a wrecker service at Riverside (Coloma Rd and I-196). He was known to tow 18-wheelers at highway speeds with a relatively small wrecker. He knew the tricks of the racing game such as placing dry ice in front of the radiator, and adding oil while driving during the longer races. The now abandoned tracks where he raced include Millburg Fairgrounds, Sister Lakes, Jackson Motor Speedway, and Saugatuck. He came out of retirement when Hartford Speedway was reopened as a dirt track by Mark Hotovy. mmshof.org/inductees/les-williams/
