Lesson learned: For my class reunion I decided to have my nails done and they were done with gel nail polish; they looked great. Well I went back one more time to have them done again and they use acetone soaked cotton which they put on top of the nails, then wrap your nails with foil to cut thru the polish just to be able to scrape it off. My nails were getting long and felt strong but I decided I wanted to take it off, trim them shorter and just use a clear polish. The nail tech had to soak my nails twice just to cut thru the gel; the acetone really damaged my nails,they are now brittle, thin and splitting ; I keep cutting them as short as I can. Now I know why fancy nails never really appealed to me besides not being able to do the things I like to do like dig in the dirt.
