Lesson learned. I am not that adept at pouring off water from a big pot of pasta to the point where I can keep the lid on the pot and not let the bulk of the pasta fall out into the sink, in which there is no colander, since, I thought, I could do it this way, and use the colander after most of the water was poured off. Yes, I ended up dumping a large amount of pasta into the sink, and the drain, and the disposal, and the sewers of Northern Virginia. Good thing I have a BJs card, and there are 4 more boxes of pasta in the pantry. I have learned. I will survive. On the plus side, the london broil slices I put into the tomato sauce will be very tender by the time the second pot of water is boiling, and the pasta is finished. I learn, you see, I learn.
