Lessons from Book of the Month The book members on my blog mybusinesslessons are reading this month is Business Lessons by Love Oladele. You can also become a member by visiting the blog and subscribing for our mail free. One of the Business Owners that was interviewed is Dr. Wada Ibraim, he is the founder of Nisa Premier Hospital and he is also the medical adviser of Garki Hospital Abuja. One of the lessons he shared is this: Have succession plan for your business: People think they will live forever but that is not true. You must have a good management team and you must have a plan for someone to succeed you. Two months ago, I registered for a mentorship programme of one of the men I admire so much. He is one of my great teachers. I have learnt a lot from his books and CDs, as a matter of fact, he has been my indirect mentor for a very long time. He is Pstor Olumide Emmanuel, the CEO of Common Sense Group and the author of “The School of Money” which is just one of his numerous books. As part of the registration pack, I got a book which I must read and summerise and send to him within a month, the title of the book “Passing it On” by Myles Munroe, the book is on mentorship and having a succession plan in place. I wish every one of our Politicians and Civil Servants would read this book so they would know the importance of succession plan in organizations. I will share what I learnt from this book with you after my business workshop on 8th Feb, the advert for the workshop will start on different radio station in Abuja from Monday 3rd February and I know some people will be associating with me for the first time on 8th Feb and I want them to gain from what I will share. But my question is 1. Do you believe in succession plan 2. Are we practicing succession plan in Nigeria at all both in government and in our private lives?
