Lessons from God‘s Creations Rachel Astrero Nature is God’s wonderful gifts to man. They seasoned our lives and they make our living complete by constantly interacting with them. Vegetation are food for man and beast, while the flowers are for the insects. The wisdom of the one who designed Creations is always manifested in their beauty. Nature can be a teacher too; Humans can learn many lessons from them. Solar energy was discovered trough the leaves of plants. Research that is being done to them proves to be very beneficial for humanity. King Solomon, the wisest man in the bible recognizes that natures are instructors. These series will explore some of God’s wonderful Creations and the lessons that they give to man. The Bee Hummingbird One of the nature’s best that can be found fascinating is the bee hummingbird; it derived its name by what it does. It flapped its wings 80 times in a second, which could create a humming sound. The Bee Hummingbird or Zunzuncito (Mellisuga helenae) is a species of hummingbird that is endemic to dense forests and woodland edges on the main island of Cuba and (formerly) on the Isla de la Juventud, also part of the nation of Cuba. The wonders of this bee hummingbird is that it is so small, it is scarcely larger than a bee; hence the name bee hummingbird. With a mass of approximately 1.6–2 g (0.056–0.071 oz) and a length of 5–6 cm (2.0–2.4 in), it is the world’s smallest bird. But it is swift and strong flier. It hovers in one spot like a helicopter. The brilliant, iridescent feathers of the bee hummingbird make the bird seem like a tiny jewel. It feeds mainly on nectars from flowers and occasional small insects. When it flies from flower to flower it transfers the pollens. It is one of the best pollinators. It is very useful in plants reproduction. This small bird reminds us about God’s great love. Matthew 10:29-31 says “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” The bee hummingbird, though so small, very fragile; yet the Father loves it and cares for it. We, humans are the “wonders of His creations;” The Creature that even the life of God’s Son was given. We are infinitely valuable in God sight. Do you feel sad or lonely? Are you always thinking about your failures, broken dreams? Do you feel worthless or the feeling that somebody is better than you. Do you think that it’s better for you to die than to live? Think and contemplate about how God feeds, cares and loves the bee hummingbird. You, Yes! you are. “Are of more value than them because for you, Jesus died.” The Bee Hummingbird reminds you, that God loves you and so do I. Sources: Wikipedia Bible (NIV)
