Lessons from Pr. Yonggi Cho conviction on funds embezzlement. I am exceedingly disheartened and saddened by this news but also realize that there are lessons to be learnt here. 1. No one is infallible If does not matter how genuine and good one is, humans err and need constant correction. 2. Too much power corrupts Without checks and balances, even the best of us inevitably start making choice that are selfish. 3. Accountability The Bible declares that in the multitude of counsellors there is both victory and safety. It is very important as a leader to have people you are accountable to. Many new independent churches has elders who operate without cover or being answerable and this is a serious formulae for disaster. The wisest men surround themselves with elders and leaders to whom they are accountable and answerable. I am very confident to state that if these standards were applied here in Zambia on the ministries, there would be so manty convictions! Woe unto those that see themselves beyond reproach and are proud and haughty, for from such shall come their falls, and how terrible that fall will be!!
