Let Me Put My Father to Rest, Mulenga Sata tells Campaigners Former President Michael Sata’s son Mulenga has acknowledged the campaign drive to have him contest the Presidency on the Patriotic Front ticket. Mulenga whose name is being touted as a possible heir to his father’s throne has however advised his supporters to wait until President Sata is buried. He advised his supporters to stop wearing T-shirts advocating his candidacy or singing songs in his honour. Mulenga said there will be a time to spell out his political future after his father has been buried. “Those that have been advocating that I seek I higher office should wait until after we have buried and the mourning period is over. To those who have been sending out messages, carrying placards, singing songs for me should stop because it may send wrong messages,” he said. “Those that have been campaigning for me by word of mouth or any other mode of messages should at least for now stop. I am around in politics for a long time.” There is a raging succession battle in the ruling party with spread out names being thrown around among them PF Secretary General Edgar Lungu, former Secretary General Wynter Kabimba, Kasama MP Geoffrey Mwamba and Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili.
