Let go, and Let God...this used to seem like a foo foo fairytale - TopicsExpress

Let go, and Let God...this used to seem like a foo foo fairytale way of thinking for me, those many years ago. The thought that I could let go of my fears, worries, doubts, frustrations, the unknowns, the what-ifs and everything in the middle of a rock and a hard place, it seemed so distant way back when, but I feel that I simply lacked the EXPERIENCE to understand it. The word KNOW in the bible many times means to experience more than to have intellectual understanding of, and this is where I feel I had my doubts in the past, in the BC, Before Christ. Today I reflected on the idea that God teaches us through our relationship with him, and he can be anywhere or speak through anyone, but you can hear him best when you are listening, when you are reading his word, the BIBLE, when you are helping his children, when you admire his creations, when you see the good in even the worst of circumstances. We cannot gain experience by simply existing, by walking through a routine of mundane activities without some form of change or obstacle. God allows the obstacles to mold us, to build character, to wield our Miry clay pottery bodies into priceless pieces of unique art. Then after we have been pressed, smoothed, examined, tested, perfected and inspected we may go into the oven for a season. This oven is required to make us hardened into the purpose God has planned. Sometimes there are flakes of impurities which must be removed, these pieces of drosse. We cannot burn off the drosse without going through some fire, and the fire has to be more than embers, it has to burn, it may even hurt, but God knows the purpose he has for us and it is for the good of His kingdom in Heaven. Now this doesnt mean he wants to keep us from happiness, but rather he wants us to experience true JOY, real Joy is that ability to see the good in all circumstances, to ask what does God want me to do with the LOT which has been dealt to me in the moment, and the peace to act on what God leads you to do without hesitation. Some people can watch a show or movie and see things for what they are, the way the director most likely intended, some people cant see past the idea of it only being a fake reality of actors, actresses, a plot line and props designed to make money, some people can feel as though they are a character within the movie and relate to something on an intimate sensory level and yet others will take the story and no matter how secular, no matter how dark, morbid or inappropriate...they can find some form of moral to the story, some biblical parallel to be taken in, some form of a positive thought which can be dissected out of the time spent viewing this film...life can be much like this movie I write of. In life there are spectators who look on from the distance, there are naysayers, characters with their own narrations, and there are those who no matter what the plot or story they have been written into, their characters have a positive spin on life...this is Joy!
