Let it be known that Lorri Basile is the reason why Ive always tried to dress weird, ugly, and/or like a male for Halloween. When I was 14 years old, I was watching her apply wrinkles to her smooth, twenty-something skin when she was getting ready to go out for Halloween. She was dressing up that night as an old Italian widow (a widow who may or may not have killed her husband). I asked why she chose that costume and one of the reasons she gave went something like this: All year long we try to look cute and hot, but this is the one night of the year where you can look homely. So as Halloween approacheth, fair maidens, take a chance on love and dress like Lemmy from Motorhead or Jerri Blank from Strangers With Candy.
