Let it be said, if you ask someone who works for the railroad - TopicsExpress

Let it be said, if you ask someone who works for the railroad nicely to do you a favor, they will usually accommodate your request if its in reason. Tim Byron a friend of mine from Bristol, Indiana, loves to model Conrail in HO scale. He wanted to me to be on the lookout for a good engineer side shot of a U-23C. Such was the case at Stanley Yard on the south side of Toledo, Ohio. I asked one of the conductors who was working on the earlier shot of the twin SW-7, if we could obtain a good side shot of locomotive #6902 working down in the yard. He told us no problem just wait here for a few minutes. He went and radioed the crew on the U-23C, and they came up to the grade crossing so we could get a good side shot of the engine. Gotta love these older New York Central hires, which still believed in good public relations even in the 1980s. Shot on September 18, 1988. Camera used was a Minolta Maxxum 7000, 35-70AF zoom lens, Hoya Skylight 1B filter, Film used was Kodak Kodachrome 64. Exposure 1/125th @ f11.
