Let me introduce you to my friend Lazaro Oliva. Lazaro is a homeless, 54-year-old man from Cuba, who I met on one occasion as I was delivering food. Instantly, I felt a need to help Lazaro however possible, and so I made it a point to begin feeding him. I would take him food platters until one day, I could not locate Lazaro. About a month passed and there were no signs of Lazaro. During this time I never have Given up on praying for Lazaro and this past week, on my way to Pharr, I found Lazaro sitting under a tree with his shopping cart, card board boxes and a small backpack. I found Lazaro to be a bit under the weather (sick), hungry and in pain. Lazaro also shared with us how he wanted his current situation to change and his first wish was to make a trip to the US immigration Office Harlingen, Texas, to see if he could begin the process of receiving very important immigration documents that he had lost. I told him that we would take him to Harlingen, which we did this yesterday and thankfully, we were able to schedule an appointment for the end of this month. In addition, We took Lazaro to the hospital to get checked which resulted in him getting the medications he needed and lastly, because of the help we received from people like you, we were able to rent him a hotel room for a night. Lazaro still needs a lot of help and I am hoping that you would feel compelled to bless this man. People make mistakes that sometimes lead them to places they never thought theyd be, but everyone deserves a new opportunity! Please consider helping this man.
