Let me start off by saying the Town does an amazing job of snow clearing here. Really. But, am I correct that Marine Drive snow clearing is now the responsibility of Dept of Highways? Town of Torbay used to do it about 3 years ago, and it was well maintained. The past few winters has seen a dramatic shift in the area around the holy trinity schools. Side roads are always cleared and salted, as is Torbay road (nice and early too!) Then Marine Drive is rutted, drifting and treacherous! This morning you could see the distinct pole lines where the town lifted their blades on Marine Drive...With the narrow roads, blind turns and hills, this makes it very dangerous. Why does our town allow the road near schools, and with residents living on it to be so poorly cared for? They do such a good job of clearing, but Marine Drive is my personal nightmare in winter. (Though I understand Indian Meal Line might be the same). Maybe Geoff Gallant has insight on this?
