Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Heb 10:23 (NLT) Continuing Day 3 of HOPE......Hope is like air – pure, crisp and clean. It swells lungs with vision and purpose for tomorrow no matter what is happening today. We will run out of breathe for living if we don’t breathe hope in and let it oxygenate our heart and body. When we take hold of hope with a strong grip, it will enable us to face the heartbreak and challenges of today for the possibilities that lie beyond them. It’s funny how we can feel alone and isolated with our issues, when truth is that we ALL face hardship… The economy, our health, the relationships we have, our careers, etc. are not immune to breakdown and chaos. But when we have HOPE filling your lungs, leaking into our blood, giving our spirit pure oxygen, it lifts our eyes out of the problem and to the Savior. He brings life where there is decay and atrophy. He works a situation weighed down with sin and heartache, and turns it for our good and benefit. We just gotta keep breathing in His hope and gripping onto and with a “Kung-fu” like grip… determining to seize it… seize Him! It’s when we do this that He works what we’re going through for our good and benefit. It reminds me of that passage in Matt 11 “heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force…” – there has to be a resolve in us that no matter how dark the season is, we will look for and head for the light. The hope.... Jesus. Hebrews 6 says, “Hope is an anchor for our souls”. If you find yourself with slippery hands or out of breathe due to whatever it is you’re facing, it’s time to turn to the one that provides the air and grit for our hearts… The One who is HOPE. Fix your eyes on Him, inhale Him in, and let the hope of Jesus fill your life and give you the energy to not just make it, but to thrive. Amen! Hope is essential to our lifeline! Without hope, we falter and fail. I have lost Hope many times in my 30 years of serving the Lord, but thankfully, the Holy Spirit has always known exactly what I needed and when. Hold on, pray, be thankful for your many blessings and trust that God is control NO MATTER WHAT! Blessings to each one of you!
