Let us look at Salvation--Salvation means to be saved. To be set - TopicsExpress

Let us look at Salvation--Salvation means to be saved. To be set free from sin and death. It is only by the grace of God and through the blood of Christ we are saved and redeemed. (Eph. 2:4-5)- (Eph, 1:7) and (1 Peter 1:18-19). Salvation comes from the power of the Almighty God working in Jesus Christ, and this is accomplished by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:8-9) states, But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we are no justified by his blood, much more, now that shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. Let us look at salvation by faith. (Romans 10:9-10) Douay Rheims--That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him up from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For, with the heart we believe unto justice; but with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. Faith is extremely important in ones salvation process. (Romans 10;13) states, For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. (Acts 2:21) states, And it shall be that whoever calleth on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 11:14) gives definitive evidence that Simon Peter will declare a message by which you will be saved. (Acts 15:11) We believe we shall be saved by the grace through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 16:31) Paul and Silas states, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household. (John 1:12) RSVCE-states, But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God. (John 5:24) states, Truly, truly I say I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life; he does not come come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. (John 6:47) Jesus exhorts, He who believes in me has everlasting life. Look at this Eucharistic Text in correlation with (John 6:53-57). Salvation is not a one time act but a life time of living in faith and obedience to the Word of God. In (Romans 16:25-26) RSVCE--St. Paul states, Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of the Lord Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which is kep secret for long ages but is now disclosed and through the prophetic writings is made known to all nations according to the command of God to bring about an obedience of faith. Remember that Reformation Protestantism taught the faith which leads one to salvation is a fiduciary faith. a confidence, a hope and trusting faith, The faith that saves in Catholic teaching is an obedience of faith, which is a faith that is accompanied by charity and not faith alone which comes through the teaching of reformation Protestantism which was never preached in the first 1500 years of Christianity. When we look at the Old Testament we see Salvation Biblical texts. (Deut. 30: 15-20) Here we see a persons magnificent choice of Life and death, blessings and curses. It is our choice life and prosperity or death and destruction. Salvation in the Bible can mean healing and deliverance. Save from personal enemies, and the enemy against ones soul is the devil. Salvation can mean save and deliverance from sin, but also eternal life in Chirst Jesus our Lord and Savior of the world. Salvation can signify the gracious providence of God. (Psalm 27:1)--God is my light and salvation. (Psalm 68:19-20) --gives evidence Blessed be the Lord the God of our salvation. (Psalm 67:1-2)-gives evidence of Gods mercy and salvation. (Psalm 91:16) gives evidence of salvation. (Isaiah 45:17) gives evidence of the saving power of God, the everlasting salvation of the Lord , God. (Isaiah 62:1-2) gives evidence of the light and glory, and the Gentiles and all kings shall see the glory of God. (Psalm 95:1) gives definitive evidence of the Lord, the Rock if our salvation. (Micah 7:7) gives evidence of the God of our salvation. The Bible gives numerous evidence of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. (Matt. 1:21)--(Luke 19:10--(Luke 24:46-47)- (John 3:14-17)--(John 11:51-52)--(Acts 4:12)--(Acts 13:23-26)--Acts 16:30-31). • Most of the Biblical texts are written with New King James Version not to show prejudice against Protestant heretical doctrines. (Ephesians 2:8-10) For by grace you been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, least anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk before in them. Here is a Biblical text where Fundamental--Evangelical and most Protestants make a vain and futile attempt to promulgate salvation by faith alone. It is a repudiation of the Mosaic law, not the repudiation of an obedience of faith, and Biblical proof that faith alone is all that is needed.(Romans 10:4) states-- For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes. There are Biblical Texts such as (1 John 5:13-14) These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him that if we ask anything according to his will. He hears us. (Galatians 6:2) states, Bear ye one anothers burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Notice the Law of Christ. (Rom. 13:8-10)-and (Galatiawns 5:14) gives evidence love of neighbor fulfills the law of God. (James 2:8) gives evidence of fulfilling the royal law of Scripture. Look at (John 10:27-28) Jesus states, My sheep listens to My voice, I know them and they follow Me. I give them eternal life and they will never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hand. (1 John 2:25) states, And this is the promise that He has promised us--eternal life. I will show definitive and affirmative Biblical evidence that one can fall away and lose salvation. The teachings of Christ give absolute evidence. Let me emphasise the Baptim and repentance in the teaching of Catholic theology. Look at the proclamation of the kingdom. (Matt. 3:2) Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. (Mark 1:15) Jesus exhorts--The time is fulfilled--and the kingdom of God is at hand Repent and believe in the gospel. Look at (Mark 6:12) The disciples preached that people should repent. (Luke 24:47) Christ preached repentance and forgivness of sins. Repentance--Greek-(metanoia)--means change of mind--change of heart. (Romans 2:4) Gods kindness leads you to repentance. Look closely at (Matthew 7:21)-Not everyone who says, Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven. Let us look at some Old Testament Biblical Texts. (Ezekiel 3:20) Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him he shall die. (Ezekiel 18:26) When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity and dies in it it is because of the iniquity he has done he dies. (Ezekiel 33:13) When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity none of the righteous works shall be remembered because of the iniquity that he has committed and he shall surely die. Look at (Hosea 11:5) They will not return to the land because they refused to repent. • Look at the Words of Christ for absolute evidence we must continue in the faith. We must be obedient to the Word of God. The teachings in the Parables of Christ demand diligence--watchfulness-- perseverance and obedience to the Word of God. Not Faith Alone! Look at the Parable of the Sower--(Matt. 13:1-23)--(Mark 4:1-20)--(Luke 8:4-15). Look at the Parable of Ten Virgins--(Matt. 25:1-13) Look at the Parable of the Last Judgment (Matt. 25:31-46). (Matt. 7:24-27) The Rock Foundation. Look at the Beatitudes-- (Matt. 5:1-12)-Blessed are the merciful-Blessed are the meek. -Blessed pure in heart-- Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. One must continue in the faith and walk in the light of Christ. We must not be moved from our hope of salvation; (Romans 8:24) In this hope we are saved. Those who persevere to the end will be saved. Those who endure to the end will be saved. Those who stand firm to the end will be saved. (Matt. 10:22)--(Matt. 24:13)--(Mark 13:13)---(Luke 21:19) (James 1:12) states--Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him. (Phil. 2:12) Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. (Colossians 1:23) If you indeed continue in the faith grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which was preached to every creature under heaven of which I Paul became a Minister. Look closely at (Romans 11: 11-24) The Ingrafted Branches. Look at (1 Cor. 9:24-27) The Apostle St. Paul does not want to be disqualified for the heavenly prize after he has preached to others. (Hebrews 10:26) When one willfully sins after receiving knowledge of the truth. We have the ministry of reconciliation--(2 Cor. 5:17-20)--(John 20:21-23). We must walk as Christ walked --(2 John 2:3-6)--(1 John 5:1-4). Baptism Saves--(John 3:3-8)--(1 Pet. 3:20-21)--(Mark 16:15-16)--(Titus 3:4-7). Remember the Catholic Church is the Pillar and Ground of Truth. (1 Tim. 3:15). Salvation is in Jesus Christ Our Lord • Let me add about the vain presumption of the wicked heretics. Presumption is the presuming one is saved and cannot lose salvation. Yes a false hypothesis, a conjecture, which in the religious or spiritual realm is an unproved theory of absolute falsehood. A false assumption. Biblical heresy and abomination. Look closely at the wicked with no humility who hollers I know I am saved my sins are washed in the blood of the Lamb--present-past-and future sins. • Apostasy from the true faith, the ignorance, pride, and obstinancy of heretics and the vain presumption of heretics must be shunned. (Titus 3:10-11)-KJV states--A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, reject. Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself. (Romans 16:17) NKJV states--Now I urge you brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you learned avoid them. Very important--Look closely at (2 John 7-11). Look closey at (1 Timothy 6:3-5)--(2 Tim. 3:1-5)-(2 Cor. 11:: 13-15) --(2 Peter 3:15-17)--(Acts 28:28-31). Heretics are caluminators--Look at (Psalm 52:1-4) against the caluminators against the true Church with their biased criticism arrogant cynicisms and the perfedious tongue. • (1 Cor. 10:12 ) Douay Rheims states, Wherefore let him that thinketh himself to stand, take heed lest he fall. Look at the Douy Rheims --Yes the following Biblical texts regarding them presumptious heretics that think they have Eternal Security-Once Saved Always Saved. The following Biblical Text is not in the Protestant Bible but should be read by Protestants. (Ecclesiasticus 5:3-6)-Douay---Say not; How mighty I am? who shall bring me under for my deeds? for God will surely take revenge. Say not: I have sinned and what harm hath befallen me? for the Most High is a patient rewarder. Be not about fear with the sin forgiven, and add not sin upon sin. Say not: The mercy of the Lord is great, he will have mercy on the multitude of my sins. Look at (Psalm 14:1-6)--RSVCE. The fool says in his heart there is no God. They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any that act wisely, that seek after God. They have all gone astray, they are all alike corrupt; there is none that do good, not one. Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat up bread, and do not call upon the Lord? There they shall be in great terror for God is with the generation of the righteous. You would confound the plans of the poor, but the Lord is his refuge. (Psalm 12:3-4)-RSVCE- May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts, those who say, With our tongues we will prevail, our lips are with us who is our master? (Proverbs 27:2)Let another praise you, and not your own lips. (Proverbs 28:26) he who trusts in his own mind a fool; but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered. • Salvation is the free gift of God. Salvation can be described as the love of God for humanity in that we may not perish but having everlasting life in Jesus Christ. (John 3:16) For God so loved the world He gve his only begotten Son and whoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Catholic Church teaching gives definitive affirmation that Jesus redeemed and saved the world through the shedding of His blood through His passion and death on the cross. Look at the Biblical afgfirmation. (Eph. 1:7)--(1 Pet. 1:18-19)--(1 Cor. 2:2)--(Galatians 6:14)-(Col.1:20)-- (Col. 2:14). Look at (Romans 3:21-25)--(Hebrews 9:13-14)--(1 John 1:7-9)-- (Revelation 1:5)--(Rev. 5:9)--(Rev. 12:7-11). The Word of God is comforting--(Psalm 119:28)--(Psalm 119: 50, 52)-- The Word of God is inspired. (Deut. 4:5-6)--(Isaiah 34:16)-- (2 Tim. 3:16)--The Sword of the Spirit- (Ephesians 6:17)---- The Word of God is Edifying--gives knowledge (Psalm 119:98-99, 104). The Word is a lamp to my feet a light to my path. (Psalm 119: 105). The Word of God is living and effective--(Hebrews 4:12)-- (Isaiah 55:11)--Like a fire-(Jeremiah 23:29). Look very closely given the active presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit, the proclamation of Gods Word is not only about God, but sent by God and standing in Gods presence-(2 Cor. 2:17). It is not the Word of man but the Word of God sent forth for His saints. (1 Thess. 2:13). Look at (1 Cor. 1:24) The Word of God is the wisdom of God and the power of God. The Word of salvation-(Acts 13:26)--The Word of grace-(Acts 14:3)-- Through this magniificent and powerful Word we are born into a new life-- (John 3:3-8)--(Titus 3:4-7)--(James 1:18)- and (1 Peter 1:23). We become ambassadors to Christ--(2 Cor. 5:20). The Church is the Pillar and Ground of Truth--(1 Tim. 3:15) --The Church is the guardian of the good news gospel that must be preached. The Church is the watcher of doctrine as the New Testament presents the Word of God as attested in form of doctrine. (Rom. 6:17)--(2 Tim. 1:13-14)--(2 Tim. 2:1-2)--(2 Tim. 4:2)-- (Titus 1:9)--(Luke 10:16)--Let us always remember that the communion of saints have a share in the spiritual goods of the Catholic Church. The Hierarchical Church Magisterium are the guardian and the distributors of the mysteries of Christ--the Sacraments. The main objective of the Sacraments is our salvation. A Sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace. Yes I want the full Council of God for their powerful intercession--Yes the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the Saints of the true Church of Jesus Christ)--(Rev. 7:14)--(Rev. 12:11). Let us look at the Word of God and come to a realization of the wisdom and power of the Word. (2 Tim. 3:15-16) gives definitive affirmation that the Word of God is the inspiration of God-Greek-(theopneustos). Look at (Hebrews 5:8-9) Although He was a Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered; and being made perfect He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. A obedience of faith is needed for salvation as we will find in (Matt. 19:17)--(Luje 11:28)--(John 14:15)--(John 14:21)--(John 14:23)- • -(John 15:10)--(Acts 5:32)-- (Romans 16:25-26) Believe and Obey.(Titus 3:4-5)--(John 3:3-8).---Christs redemption is a mystery of Divine love--totally expressed in the Almighty Fathers supreme gifts. (John 3:16) give absolute definitive evidence of the Almighty Fathers supreme gift in the giving of His only begotten Son. This initial mystery, the incomprehensible excess of the goodness and generosity of God who loved sinners and sent His Son into the world for redemption can be comprehended by faith. There is absolute redemption for all men in Jesus Christ. Christ completes his redemption by sending forth the Holy Spirit from the Father. (John 15:26)--(John 16:7)--(Acts 1:8). Through the promise of faith we may receive the promised Spirit- Believe and Obey, Not Faith Alone is the crux of Biblical teaching.---One must have an obedience of faith, not faith alone. (Romans 16:25-26) gives definitive affirmation of an obedience of faith. Believe and Obey. Look at this Biblical Text--Protestant Bible--New King James--St. Paul exhorts--Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began. But now made manifest by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the command of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith. Obedience to the faith is essential and the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes! Believe and Obey. Look closely at (James 2:14-17) N.K.J.V. What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and of of you says to them, Depart in peace and be warmed and filled, but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself , if it does not have works is dead. Look at the word justified in any Biblical Expository Dictionary. The Greek Verb for the word justified-(Diikaioo) is used. Many Protestants write that the word justify means vindicated is bad Biblical exegesis.Look at any Protestant Expository Dictionary such as Vines or Strongs for verification. Look at the correlation with The Parable of the Last Judgment • --(Matt. 25:31-46) The separation of the sheep and goats is determined by the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by works of Charity. Charity accompanied with faith is not a prerequisite for salvation in Protestant teaching. Faith Alone or Faith Only saves is the Reformation Protestant teaching. (1 Corinthians 13:2) states, We can have faith to move mountains without love faith is nothing. (James 2:14-17) gives definitive affirmation faith without love is a dead faith. (Phil.2 :12) gives definitive witness-Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. (James 2:24) KJV states-Ye see tha how a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. (James 1:22) Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. -Look closely at Verse Forty in the Parable of the Last Judgment.-- (Matt. 25:40)--N.K.J.V. And the King will answer and say to them, Assurdedly I say to you, insomuch as you did to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me. Jesus Christ is talking about feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, -sheltering the homeless etc. Corporal l works of mercy in Catholic teaching. Look at three Parables-(Matt. 24:42-51) The illustration of the Two Sevants--(Matt. 25:1-13) The Parable of the Ten Virgins. Look at the Parable of the Talents (Matt. 25:14-30).These three are completed by the anouncement of a rigious last judgment. In these teachings Christ demands diligence, watchfullness, faithfulness, and perseverance in the faith. These Parables of Christ are not judged on faith alone. Look at the Parable of the Marriage Feast. (Matt. 22:1-14) What does the man witout the wedding garment signify. St. Gregory the Great said the marriage is the wedding of Christ and His Church, and the garment is the virtue of charity; a person who comes to the marriage feat without a wedding garment is someone who believes in the Church but does not have charity. The white garments is the works done in faith symbolizing purity. The wedding garment is the works done in faithfulness to Christ. White symbolizes purity and the joy of victory .Look at (Revelation 3:4)-- (Rev. 7:9---(Rev. 7:13). Look at the words of the Apostle St. Paul-- (1 Cor. 13:2) N.I.V. If I have faith can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. This is not faith alone. Look at the Book of Phillipians who were a saved people, look at the language of St. Paul--(Phil. 2:12) N.I.V. Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence , but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Look again--Work out your salvation with Fear and Trembling. Does this sound like faith alone--.Look at a few Biblical Tests that talks an obedience of faith. King James Version. Let me list a few Old and Testament Biblical Texts that give definitive affirmation that we must believe and obey. The Bible does not teach Sola Fides-- Faith Alone saves. Old Testament--(Genesis 17:9)--(Exodus 23:22)--(Leviticus 19:19)--(Leviticus 19:35-37)-- (Leviticus 20:8)--(Leviticus 20:22)--(Leviticus 22:31)--(Numbers 15:38-40)- Remember the Lords commandments and do them. Please read (Deuteronomy 4:1-40) King James- (Deut. 5:1-33)--(Deut. 6:1-25)--(Deut. 8:1-6)--(Deut. 8:11-20)--(Deut. 11:1-3) -- (Deut.11: 13-27)--Look at (Deut. 13:4) K.J.V. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. This surely is not faith alone. Look closely at the following Biblical Texts-- (Deut. 26:16-18)---(Deut. 27:1-10)-- Look at (Joshua 22:5) But take diligent heed to do the commandments and the law, which Moses servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your Go, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul. (Joshua 23:6)--(Joshua 24:140--(1 Samuel 12:14)--(1 Samuel 12:20)--- (1 Samuel 12:24)-(1 Samuel 15:22)--(2 Kings 17:37-38)--(1 Chronicles 16:15)-- (1 Chronicles 28:9-10)--(Psalm 76:11)--(Proverbs 7:1)--(Ecclesiastes 12:13)-- (Jeremiah 26:13)---(Daniel 7:27)--(Malachi 4:4). Protestants need an abandonment to Divine Providence and Truth. Let us remember how to discover what is the will of God. (1 Thess. 4:3) gives definitive evidence that Gods will is our sanctification. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the divine action places before us at every moment things of infinite value, and gives them to us according to the measure of faith and love. (2 Cor. 3:5) gives definitive affirmation our sufficiency is from God. The perfection of souls, and the degree of excellence in which they have attained can be gauged by their fidelity to the order established by God. We are called to be made perfect, not only to believe. (Matt. 5:20) Christ exhorts, Our righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. Righteousness is holiness -lead a holy life. (Matt. 5:48)--Christ calls one to perfection. (Hebrew 12:14) N.I.V. states, Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (1 Peter 1:13-16) Calls us to holiness. Holiness--Greek-(hagiasmos) is what we are called to. Self guidance is a mistake--self guidance comes from self-interpretation of the Bible. Remember hope is an essential element in love. Love has faith in the goodness of the beloved. What is the foundation, the pillar and ground of truth. (1 Tim. 3:15) K.J.V The Church is the Pillar and Ground of Truth.Believe and Obey, Not Faith Alone is the crux of Biblical teaching. One must have an obedience of faith, not faith alone.
