Let us not forget that while we celebrate and feast, someone out there is humping a pack and beltfed while wishing they were home. Someone is getting shot at, and someone is shooting back. Someone is on a perimeter hoping they get something other than a MRE for lunch or dinner, someone is counting days until they leave to return home, and someone is serving food to their troops. If you are a commander, and arent out with your troops, I hold you in contempt. If you are a Chief/ Sheriff or ranking member of a police department and you arent out with your men, I despise you. The world revolves around those who DO THE DEEDS, not those who take the credit. To those who carry a weapon and go into harms way, especially on this day that we give thanks, I salute you. Generations of my family salute you as well, as we have all worn the uniform of our great nation. Your country stands strong because of what you do. While I can not be there with you in person, you have millions with you in spirit, and while that doesnt warm your fingers or fill your belly, I hope that today it can at least in some small way warm your heart.
