Let us reason in line with progressive trend that reading bible without proper application of its text does not help in our dream of change but applying it in the proper way helps; we are not talking about the mechanisms of fiction, but about the installation of reality. For all that existed before Christ is old including our traditional marriage and behold by accepting Jesus Christ everything has become new, including cultures and traditions of our land. Therefore, a Christian must only wed in the church alone and a traditionalist wed according to traditional norms, unless as a traditionalist she is repenting after her traditional marriage. On the other hand, it is not good for a Christian to accept what he or she rejected by accepting to go through traditional marriage before Christian marriage, as this depicts the meaning of Saul to Paul through baptism; a man who defended Jewish cultures and traditions but later became a defender of Christian principles, thereby preaching against those cultures and traditions he defended. When we misapply the idea of ‘giving to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s’, it becomes a difficult thing in life. We were told that our ancestors were married virgins; that our mothers were married virgins and that during that period the land was full of sanctity and purity. Yes, that was what happened but does it happen today? The majority answer will be ‘No’. Today, what is happening? Who among these current ladies are virgins? Does this concept of ‘giving to Caesar’ not require that ‘our body is the temple of God’? That only the husband enjoys his wife’s body? What is happening now? Tsunami of disvirginment and perusal among intending wives. Therefore, FREEDOM, according to Galatians 5, demands that our cultures with regards to marriage have to change with this changing trend of Pentecostalism in Nigeria. (See C. C. Thus, there is nothing like ‘giving to Caesar what is Caesar and to God what is God’ in marriage as marriage is an act of UNION built for procreation and procreation is an act of spiritualism ordained only by God for continuation of human race.
