Let us renew our fear of the Lord! All the anticipation, - TopicsExpress

Let us renew our fear of the Lord! All the anticipation, exhilaration and joyful dispositions which filled our hearts and beings as we welcomed our Chief Apostle to the Cape over these past few days with song and open arms of love reached new heights of bliss when precious moments were spent at the altar of Christ. Chief Apostle J Schneider served a congregation of thousands who were connected via audio visual transmission to the Retreat-East Church from where the divine service was conducted. Already in the opening prayer the Chief Apostle struck home the message of the great love which God has for us with the words; “The more we know You, the more we love You”. The Chief Apostle took the children of God on a journey of discovery of what it means to fear the Lord. We have been given the assurance that He will hearken to our pleas while we fear Him. And this fear of God means that we should respect Him and value the gifts that He has given His Church. When we have requested His help we should trust in Him and not use our own methods to resolve matters. This is also part of being God-fearing. Being obedient and knowing that we are in need of grace rounded off the explanation of what it means to fear the Lord. District Apostles Tshitshi Tshisekedi from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Patrick Mkhwanazi from the South-East District Church were called to serve. The celebration of Holy Communion and Holy Communion for the departed was deeply moving and rounded off the perfect fellowship with the Lord. Before the conclusion of the divine service two bishops, Bishops Hartzenberg and Cronjé were ordained for the District Church of the Cape.
