Lets forget Jonathan, his fictitious transformation and the lying - TopicsExpress

Lets forget Jonathan, his fictitious transformation and the lying trio of Abati, Reno and Okupe for a moment. I think the biggest dummy sold to Nigerians, especially Lagosians is that Fashola is the epitome of good governance. Beyond the fancy facades you see in parts of the Island and Lekki (which you have to pay for to use anyway) Lagos is still a decrepit hell-hole. Talk to the real inhabitants of Lagos in Badagry, Ayobo, Ikorodu, Iyana Ipaja, Ketu, Bariga, etc. Talk to them and theyd tell you Fasholas Lagos is no less as hellish as Tinubus Lagos and other governors and military administrators before them. In Ojo and Badagry for instance, the only project Fashola government can lay claim to are the poorly-built jetties. Lagos schools are mostly old, rotting chicken coops where teacher are busy selling aso-ebi. Forget the fancy schools beside major roads, to access the true nature of Lagos school you have to visits the ghettos of Ajegunle, Ijora, Okokomaiko, etc. The fact that cheap private schools are springing up on every street corners of the state is an indictment on the government and direct reflection of the disrepair of the public schools. LASU is an eyesore. I visited my department months ago and students still sit on the same benches I used ten years ago (Those benches are at least 20 years old now). For instance the Law and Humanity (LH) building has not seen any form of renovation in 25 year. You can still smell the toilet from classroom. LASU students still pee and defecate in the open. Many roads in the states are horrible exhibition of craters and potholes. What about running water? That also is a blatant failure. Most offices and households in highbrow areas in Ikeja, Victoria Island and even Surulere get water from private boreholes or still patronise water vendors known as mai ruwa. I can go on for days if I have the time. What has Lagos done with all the money it has generated? the debt profile of the state is frightening. all the reasonable projects in the states that are worth mentioning are PPP projects and have been conceded to cronies for several decades. Just like its obvious we need a change at the centre, we need a change in Lagos. The APC has failed in Lagos. I dont know if the PDP has what it takes. I think Obanikoro if elected will spend his time fighting Tinubu. The hatred they have for each other runs too deep. We dont need a Fayose in Lagos. I dont know about Jimi Agbaje. Dude is too quiet for my liking. Does anyone knows what his policy direction is. Whats Agbajes view about issue of importance to the state such as commerce, transportation, etc. I dont know. If you do please say. I hate dark horses. Lagos needs people with proven ability to deliver the goods. Agbaje would not say pim for 4 years only to come out asking for our votes during election. We deserve more than that. In all, this democratic dispensation has been nothing but unmitigated nightmare to Nigerians in whatever state they reside. We deserve more than what we are getting. Lagos is not an exception. Fashola is an average governor at best. Yes. I said it. sue me.
