Lets get physical, Metaphysical... lets get physical, Metaphysical... Oh brother.... going to be awhile for that to go away, sorry Zack or is it Zach? He must have spelled it that way to avoid any Hack reference! Heres the article for this week, enjoy! Metaphysical Forest Lanes Now On Top If only we all could be so gifted… but according to Frank, there is only one! Zack “Metaphysical” Jellsey was mentally in tune last night, and apparently he wanted to put a beat down on The Pro Approach, as he rolled his way to 648 to team with Jon Diso’s 624 to post the league’s Team High Series. League leader Billy Myers Jr. 246/712 & Frank Barefoot Jr. also managed a 603 in the losing effort as Forest Lanes nearly swept, winning 4-1. Power House Video Games swept their way into a first place tie as Val Wise 244/615 shut the door on Bowlium, who as a team struggled mightily in week 2, their high game being 202. Pino’s Pizza got a huge break in the 10th of game 3, enabling them to pull out Team Total by 3 pins and end with a 4-1 win over CASAMIGO’S Tequila. Leonard Ruiz Jr. 258/624 led the winners, while fellow anchorman Vernon Adams managed 240/624 & Joe Jimenez 593 in a losing effort. DV8 had another strong showing, sweeping past Buddy “Lone Ranger” Lucas & Los Altos Trophies. Buddy didn’t shoot 800, but did manage 220+ each game for 671, while his teammates went plus one time, 202. Ashkan Tahvildaran 628 & Jeff Carr 265/624 led the way for DV8. Super Sub Memo Rosales powered his way to 244/653 to lead Tifco Industries to a come from behind 4-1 win over J.A.T. who were led by DeeRonn Booker’s 588. Keystone Lanes got back to their winning ways taking down Alhambra Coin Center 4 to 1, losing only game 3 by 15 pins. That win for Alhambra came courteous of T.J. Abahazy and his 258/590. Herbert Jones 633 & Arnold Cheesman 594 paved the way for the Keystone victory. Linder Insurance overcame a tough 9 pin loss in game 1 to come roaring back for a 4-1 win over American Harvest Vodka. Anthony Santos 232/621 was the only one able to crack the code on 23-24. Threadworks stitched up their wounds from week 1 and swept past the struggling GJC Services. Threadworks got strong efforts from Kevin Peterson 620 & Eric Snow 606 to lead the sweep. Blizz Yogurt cleared the air after a very sour 586 Team Game 1, shooting the league’s high team game in #2 (860) to steam roll their way to a 4-1 win over Herzog Insurance. Greg Neuer flipped a switch for the winners, going 147-245-234 for 626. In a shocking match up of winless teams it was Erickson Foods over SYSCO 4 games to 1. Raul “Spanky” Rosales 611 & Brian Main 609 led the way to a near sweep, but Charlie Kinstler 604 came up with a key double in the 10th of game 2 to pull out that win by 13 pins. Erickson then put together four games of 209 or more to shoot 849 in Game 3 & the league’s 2nd high Team Series. Cook’s Bowling Supply upped their game considerably after a major struggle in week 1, and managed to pull out a win in Game 2, but remain at the bottom in the bye spot. Sidepot winners were Game 1 Leonard Ruiz Jr. 258 Game 2 Vernon Adams 240 and 3rd Game Super Pot went to Jeff Carr and his 265 effort. The Financial Advisor’s 2nd game pot went to Billy Myers Jr. with his 246 ($240) to snap off Greg Neuer 245 who had to settle for 2nd and $100. As predicted, no team managed to go 10-0, but two teams tied at 9-1 will make for a great match next week as both teams boast bowlers who have mastered this 2nd round shot. There are 12 teams within 4 games of the Round 2 lead, and since we bowl by position each and every week, look for the standings to have lots of movement in the coming weeks. We did see our first 700 series this week, as Billy Myers Jr. topped that mark by 12. It’s November now people, it’s bowling season in full effect so come down and see all the action next Monday at Del Rios Lanes in Downey! Have a blessed week everyone!! Forgot the True Anchor Award (low set of the week) and this week has two Tiana Tipton held down the ladies spot with 429 while Derek Remijio defended his title for the men with 431... sorry Derek, doesnt count to only beat a girl!
