Lets get ready Canes !!! Its on tonight at 8pm !!!! If you are around my age and from the hood, you cant help but be a CANE !!! Just think about it... I really started paying attention to football at the age of 9 or 10... That was 1980 or 81. My 1st Cousin Auther MCduffie was killed by police in miami in 1980.... Nevel Johnson was killed in 1982, Miami represented racially shifting and cultural change.. I related more to miami that tally ho, especially FSU... I loved FAMU.. FSU had disappointed everybody AGAIN losing to Oklahoma for the National title... The only player any knew on the team was Ron Simmons... Miami was the laughing stock of College Football... Burger King used to give away free tickets to a Cane game if you bought a whooper..LOL. !!! But They was the 1st major University in florida that went into the inner city and in the hood and give kids a chance to play on a big stage.. During our developmental years I didnt related to nobody the played for FSU.. But Miami had a bunch of players acting like what I saw everyday We didnt respect guys that never played sand lot ball in the hood.... that was your proving ground.. If you were only on the team because your mama or dad was a teacher or booster or something, to us you were soft... I saw how FSU did Marion Butts a poor kid that walked on and was promised a scholarship and it was it was given to a boosters son who was a kicker... Fsu players represented players that made the team that didnt deserve it.... I know of plenty guys right around here that played HS ball and made the team ONLY because of MAMA and DADDY or they got decent grades.. Not because they were tough and would do anything to win and not cry.....You never saw them in the hood on proving ground.. They were soft and whined a lot I remember listening to the Sports Commentators talk about how bad we were because we celebrated and bragged... i remember FSU supporting new rules to stop us from celebrating.....I remember when they NCAA were training the officials to the new rules they put in a Miami Hurricane Highlight tape and said everything we did was a penalty... I remember them hating on Luke for buying kids shoes and clothes and food because the NCAA only allowed $30 a weekend for food.... In 1987, I went to visit my dad for the 1st time and had a look for myself !!!! These were some eat off the same plate, drink out the same bottle guys !!! Then we beat up the same team that was killing FSU , Oklahoma... And did it with hood dudes Then when we were almost grown, you started seeing FSU recruit players from the hood that they wouldnt bat an eye at before... we didnt see Deion Sanders until 1987 !!! until then it was Greg Allen who was garbage.. So FSU became MIAMI wanna-bes ... 1987 Deon comes to FSU, 1988 they make a damn Seminloe rap !! We were winning Titles and balling with Luke for money back then... The NCAA made rules to make anything Miami did illegal and blessed everything FSU did...... Im a Cane at Heart, we have too much in common !!!
