Lets get this whole Fonda thing straight, once and for - TopicsExpress

Lets get this whole Fonda thing straight, once and for all. Continuing accusing Fonda of being a traitor is outrageous. Its in fact unfair and unreasonable to accuse Jane Fonda of being a traitor. Fearlessly fighting for democracy makes all of us as American the leader and pioneer in the free world. Fonda was just one of the those who were part of the anti-Vietnam War Movement. Watching all the videos in that period helps us realize that Fonda played just a small part in the anti-Vietnam war protests. There were also hundreds of thousands of college students in U.S. at the time to rally against the Vietnam war, not to mention many decorated Vietnam vets against Vietnam war, who were known as Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Other famous American figures, such as Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King Jr., Singer Eartha Kitt and many more were all publicly against the Vietnam war. One of the most unforgettable anti-Vietnam war protests was that at the Brown University commencement in 1969, two-thirds of the graduating class turned their backs when Henry Kissinger stood up to address them. In addition, Chicano Moratorium in 1970: 20-30,000 Mexican-Americans participated in the largest antiwar demonstration in Los Angeles. The My Lai Massacre in March 1968 truly fueled the antiwar protests even more that led to more and more people in U.S. and around the world to speak up against the war. Who can forget John Lennon and the Beatles? There you have it. Fonda was not the only one who stood up against the war. These historic facts and events above proved what Fonda did, was NOT the key factor that contributed to our loss in Vietnam. Singling out Fonda as the only woman in the anti-Vietnam War Movement for being a traitor, is unfair and unreasonable. Stop being misogynistic. Stop accusing Fonda of being a traitor. Its not the right thing to do, so stop it.
