Lets play GM/Head Coach...How would you improve the Vikings in 2015? Name your plans here.... Heres my plan: 1.) Re-instert Cassel as starting QB once he recovers next year. Teddy needs to sit for at least 1 year. Watching will help him in the long term and Cassel will play well with AP back there. Cassel is better at taking advantage of play action and getting the ball downfield and this team can win now with AP back and this improved defense. 2.) Make SURE AP is the starting RB in 2015. Those 2 moves right there make our offense formidable again like what we saw vs the Rams in week 1. 3.) Draft a CB at least 6 feet tall (in the mold of Rhodes) with the 1st rd pick. This player can play outside in the Nickel in their first year and move Captain inside in the slot. Cut or severely demote Robinson. Keep Prater, Sherels & Price as the backups. We cant mess around with this position in the division we play in with the tall, physical WRs we face. 4.) Sign the best OG in FA to replace Johnson in the starting lineup. This will help Kalil. This along with the return of Fusco will get our O-line back to the level of play it needs to be at for success. 5.) Cut Ponder so that he never sees the field again in case we lose our top 2 QBs again. 6.) Draft a decent QB in the mid rds to replace Ponder as the 3rd string QB. 7.) Sign Larry Fitzgerald in FA to start with Jennings. Then Jennings moves to the slot in the 3 WR set and Flash plays outside and is relegated to the #3 WR position. Perhaps Flash can have more success as a #3. Keep Wright & Johnson as the 4 & 5 to provide depth. 8.) Draft a MLB and a DE to either replace or platoon with Robison/Wooten at LDE with the next two picks after the CB. We need to bolster our run defense on the D-line and get a more athletic MLB than Brinkley. 9.) Sign a SS in FA to replace Blanton as the starter. There are my solutions to get the Vikings to the next level. 3 key FAs and 3 key draft picks and wed be a playoff team
