Lets see what you lot think on this: Warming up. Do you do it? I dont. I go into a full on kickboxing sparring without needing a warm up. Same for any sport orientated activity. Same for any conditioning, whether runs resistance or otherwise. Just step into the ring and off I go. The science as to whether to warm up or not is very mixed. We are genetically designed to respond at a very high intensity in an instant - our biochemistry supports this. Studies show that pre-cooling rather than warming may be of benefit in endurance events. I would suggest that the only need to carry out a warm up is for psychological benefit - or to allow appropriate mobilisation of a pre-existing condition for example. What do you lot do, and why?
