Letter of Appreciation On behalf of myself and the newly elected Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy National Executive Council (NSP NEC) we return all glory to almighty God for the victory at the NSP elections. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all NSP electorate for the confidence reposed in me by my re-election as the President of the NSP. I also congratulate my co-contestant on the joint victory at the elections. The profession of Physiotherapy won the election. My thanks go to my wife who stood by me with her prayers and physical presence at Asaba. The support of my children and other family members cannot be underestimated. I am overwhelmed with joy with the sagacity and issue based campaign exhibited by the Legacy Mandate support group. Now that the elections of officers of the NSP are over it is time to collectively pursue the goals and aspirations of the NSP. As the flag bearer of the profession of Physiotherapy in Nigeria I solemnly pledge to embrace all irrespective of affiliation or ideology. Furthermore, I welcome ideas, suggestions and constructive criticism that will move the profession forward from esteemed members of the NSP. The “Gutter politics” engaged before the last election is medieval and not healthy for our professional growth. In order to eliminate reoccurrence I will propose an amendment in the 2013 NSP constitution for a single tenure for all NSP elective offices. A united front is the master key to open the door to the Promised Land. On a final note, I am intensely grateful for the outpouring of congratulatory messages and kind words from all well meaning Nigerian Physiotherapists both at home and in the Diaspora. Please endeavour to pay your NSP subscription due and participate actively in NSP programmes. It is our collective responsibility to move our profession to the next level. Thank you and stay blessed. Your chief servant, Taiwo Oyewumi
