Letter of Introduction from John Ellenberg, Interim Principal It is with gratitude and excitement I enter into the role of Interim Principal of Newton High School. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead at the school where I have served as teacher, department chair and Assistant Principal, for now 13 years. I am excited about the opportunity we have to fulfill the mission statement of the Newton County School System, “To provide educational excellence for all students.” At Newton High we are focused on motivating students to achieve educational excellence and work to prepare them for success. While our youth today face challenges which distract them from seeing their full potential, I am committed to working with parents and staff as we help these young men and women see past the challenges and to begin to envision the possibilities for their future. As Interim Principal I will serve alongside the faculty to ensure our students feel cared for. I am committed to helping each youth recognize they are capable of academic success. I am also focused on providing a school climate that promotes safety for our students and staff. It is an honor to accept this position and to work with a committed and professional group of educators.
